The Messages app allows you to send and receive text messages via cellular service to people in your contact list. But if you are receiving messages from an unknown sender in a conversation and wanted to stop that, then you can filter the messages from unknown senders in the Messages app. Filtering messages from unknown senders turn off iMessage notifications from senders who aren’t in your contacts and sort the messages into the Unknown Senders tab in the Messages list. What is the Message app?

The Message app is an instant messaging service developed by Apple Inc. to send text messages over cellular service to people available on your contact list. You can send photos, videos, and other info to your contacts. You can also personalize your messages with animated effects, Memoji stickers, iMessage apps, and more.

How to filter messages from unknown senders:

Step 1: Go to Settings.

Step 2: Then tap Messages.

Step 3: Then turn on Filter Unknown Senders.

Note: You canʼt open any links in a message from an unknown sender until you add the sender to your contacts or reply to the message.
