Qualcomm officially launched Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3/ 7c+ Gen 3 chips

Qualcomm officially released the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 PC chips, using 5nm and 6nm process technology respectively, and their performance and energy efficiency are better than those of the previous generation.

In addition, these two chips also support Microsoft’s Windows 11 system and are optimized for a large number of third-party software such as PhotoShop. At present, the two chips have been listed on Qualcomm’s official website, and detailed product parameters have also been exposed.

Some parameters of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3:

The TDP power consumption of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 is expected to be more than 15W. The official said that compared with the low-voltage processor of the x86 platform, the performance is increased by 25% while the power consumption is reduced by 25%.

Overall, thanks to the addition of four X1 super cores, compared with the second-generation Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2, the chip has an 85% increase in CPU performance, a 60% increase in GPU performance, and a 40% increase in single-thread performance.

According to the official, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 can make the notebook’s battery life reach 25 hours, and it can also be compatible with Qualcomm Snapdragon X65, X62, X55 basebands to obtain 5G networking capabilities. The product supports Microsoft Pluton TPM receipts, has complete security features, and supports Windows Hello face recognition or fingerprint login.

In terms of images, this processor supports 4K HDR 30fps video recording, the camera supports up to 24 million pixels, and also supports 720P 480fps slow-motion video. The product supports up to 4K UHD resolution displays and also supports up to two 4K displays.

In other respects, Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 supports 4K HDR 120fps video decoding, supports H.264, H.265, VP9 codec, compatible with 8cx Gen 3 can make the notebook’s battery life up to 25 hours and is compatible with Qualcomm Snapdragon X65, X62, X55 baseband, compatible with Rec. 2020 color standard and 10bit color digits.

Compared with Snapdragon 7c Gen 2, Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 3 chip has a 60% increase in CPU multi-thread performance, a 30% increase in single-thread performance, and a 70% increase in GPU

This product only supports the Snapdragon X53 baseband, and the 5G network download speed is up to 3.7Gbps. The chip supports Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, and the Wi-Fi connection rate is up to 2.9 Gbps. This chip supports 64MP single camera, 22MP triple camera, and 4K HDR video recording.
