Smartphones have become an important part of our lives today. This is why before you give your phone to a friend or family member or sell it, it is recommended that you reset it to factory settings to erase all data and other content from the device.
Resetting the device will cancel the association between your Google account and the other accounts you have signed in to the device. It will delete all your apps and data and basically restore it to the state it was in when you first purchased it.
If you have a Samsung Galaxy S21, A52, or another model, the steps to restore it to factory settings are very simple. let’s start.
Before Factory reset:
- Resetting your Galaxy device will erase all the data stored in it. Therefore, it is important to back up your Android device and all data on it before continuing the reset process.
- Resetting your Galaxy device will not withdraw any software updates installed on it. Therefore, if your Galaxy device runs Android 10 out of the box but gets the Android 11 update, it will remain on Android 11 after the reset.
- You do not need to perform a factory data reset. You can also choose to reset all device settings, network settings, or accessibility settings while keeping the data intact.
- If you use a microSD card on your Galaxy device, you cannot choose to erase its contents during the factory reset.
How to Factory reset your Samsung Galaxy device?
- Open the Settings app and navigate to General Management > Reset.
- Various reset options will be shown here, including the ability to reset all settings, network settings, etc. However, you need to select the Factory data to reset option.
- You will be provided with a summary of all the content that will be erased and all the accounts that will be unlinked from your Galaxy device.
- Scroll to the very bottom and select the Reset option.
- For confirmation, you will have to enter your device unlock pattern or password followed by your Samsung account password if you had logged into it. Finally, tap the Delete all button.
In addition, if you want to switch to another phone, you can also choose to delete all eSIMs from your phone. Choose this option only if you plan to sell or give away your Galaxy device.
If you reset your Galaxy device at the factory for any other reason and plan to use it again after the reset, please do not erase your eSIM. Otherwise, you will have to contact your carrier to set it up again.
