Apple has released a new 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which uses Liquid retina XDR display, uses mini LED backlight, achieves up to 1000 nits of full-screen brightness, and up to 1600 The peak brightness of nits.
The display has more than 10,000 mini LEDs, grouped into more than 2,500 local dimming zones, and has an impressive contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1.
Till now, Apple has referred to its mini LED display as the “XDR” display, short for “Extreme Dynamic Range,” and there are rumors that the iPad Pro will not be the only Apple device using this technology this year.
Research organization TrendForce reports that Apple intends to launch new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with mini-LED displays in the second half of 2021, consistent with previous reports.
These notebooks are expected to be driven by Apple’s Silicon chips and adopt a new design that restores the SD card slot and HDMI port.
People have a lot of expectations for the new high-end MacBook Pro models because Apple is likely to equip these notebooks with an upgraded version of its M1 chip, perhaps with the M1X brand or something similar.
Mark Gullman and analyst Ming-Chi Guo also claim that the Touch Bar will be replaced by physical function keys and that the MagSafe magnetic power cord will return.
Apple has updated four Mac models with Apple Silicon chips, including 24-inch iMac, 13-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac mini. Apple previously stated that its transition away from Intel processors will be completed around the 2022 WWDC Global Developers Conference.
