Sony has now unveiled two flagship phones –Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III. These smartphones follow the old design language, still using a 21:9 screen, metal frame, and glass back panel, the right side of the frame is equipped with a capacitive fingerprint reader, and the physical shutter button uses a two-segmented, advanced 3.5 mm headphone jack still exists.p
Sony Xperia 1 III is equipped with the world’s first 6.5-inch 21:9 CinemaWide 4K HDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Xperia 5 III is equipped with a 6.1-inch 21:9 CinemaWid 120Hz HDR OLED display with FHD+ resolution. X1 remastering technology borrowed from Sony’s Bravia TV series is also presented with Bravia HDR, and DolbyAtmos is also supported on the front stereo speakers.
In terms of cameras, Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III use a periscope zoom system, equipped with a zoomable telephoto lens, which can be switched between 70mm and 105mm focal lengths.
The camera system of the new smartphones can provide focal lengths of 16mm, 24mm, 70mm, and 105mm, covering most photo and video scenes. Its autofocus technology comes from Sony Alpha professional cameras, combined with the Camera Pro application, to provide users with professional algorithms.
In terms of configuration, the two new phones are equipped with the Snapdragon 888 5G chipset. Xperia 1 III has an optional 12GB of memory and 256GB of flash memory, while Xperia 5 III is configured with 8GB+128GB.
Both models are equipped with a 4500 mAh battery, with a 30W fast charger, which can charge 50% in 30 minutes. Sony Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III is available in black, gray, and purple, starting in June 2021.
