Nvidia and MediaTek cooperates to bring RTX graphics cards to ARM PC platform

Nvidia’s GTC21 event, Nvidia announced a collaboration with MediaTek, one of the world’s largest Arm-based SoC vendors, to jointly build a reference platform that supports Chromium, Linux, and NVIDIA SDK.

Nvidia said that the combination of RTX GPU and the high-performance, energy-efficient Arm Cortex processor will bring realistic ray tracing graphics technology and top AI technology to new laptops.

MediaTek CEO Rick Tsai said: “MediaTek is the world’s largest Arm chip supplier. Our chips are used in all products including smartphones, Chromebooks, and Smart TVs. We look forward to using our technical expertise and cooperating with NVIDIA.

Bringing GPU performance to the Arm PC platform, enabling it to be used in games, content creation, and more. GPU acceleration will greatly promote the development of the entire Arm ecosystem.”

Nvidia CEO Huang Renxun shared his vision for AI, HPC, data science, graphics technology, and other fields in the GTC conference keynote speech. He once again promised to continue to expand the Arm ecosystem, which is also an important part of the acquisition of Arm announced by Nvidia and Arm in September 2020.
