Google announces Pixel 5A 5G by denying rumors it’s canceled

Google has responded to rumors that have appeared on the network today about the cancellation of the new model of the branded line of Pixel smartphones.

Recently a well-known YouTuber Jon Prosser, and then the Android Central resource, indicating two independent sources at once, the company decided to cancel the release of the Pixel 5A 5G due to the shortage of microcircuits.

In response, Google made an unambiguous statement, in fact, very briefly “announcing” the model:

Pixel 5a 5G has not been canceled. It will be available later this year in the US and Japan and will be announced at the same time as last year’s A-series smartphone was unveiled.

Thus, the company has confirmed the name of the model, the estimated release dates, and the first regions of appearance. As we can see, the reports of the deficit turned out to be real, but the result was not a complete cancellation of the issue, but a decrease in geographic coverage, at least at first. Based on the debut date of last year’s Pixel 4A, we can expect the announcement in August 2021.
