CD Projekt RED has published a rather large video, which talks about the new corporate development strategy. The near half-hour video contains no specific details about new games or additional content for Cyberpunk 2077, however, the developers said that they are rethinking the strategy of the upcoming multiplayer game in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe.
Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer has been discussed for quite some time, and CD Projekt Red planned to release it as a standalone project long before the release of Cyberpunk 2077.
In this video, CD Projekt RED explains that Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer was supposed to be the company’s next major AAA project, but with a change in strategy development, the company is now reviewing this decision and, apparently, the very idea of multiplayer for Cyberpunk 2077 in general.
We previously hinted that our next AAA project would be multiplayer Cyberpunk, but we decided to revisit that plan. With our new, more systematic, and flexible approach, instead of focusing primarily on one big online project, we want to make sure that online appears someday in all of our franchises.
What this means for the multiplayer game Cyberpunk 2077 is currently unknown, but CD Projekt RED is currently working on fixing the single-player game Cyberpunk 2077.
