Volkswagen plans to launch the ID. Buzz retro electric bus for the first time in 2017, and previously promised to release it in 2022. According to foreign media caranddriver news, Volkswagen’s commercial vehicle project leader Carsten Intra previously stated that this model will be postponed to 2023.
Additionally, civilian versions will be available in the United States, and both civilian and commercial versions will be launched in Europe. The design of this car is inspired by Volkswagen’s classic T1 bus from the 1960s to the 1970s. It retains the huge logo on the front and the design language of the two-tone body.
This car will provide entry-level and high-performance versions to choose from. The entry-level model is a rear-wheel-drive design with 200 horsepower. The high-performance model will support all-wheel drive and the power will be increased to 300 horsepower.
The European version of ID. Buzz will also have multiple sensors and autopilot functions. However, the self-driving version will be released after the regular version is on sale, and it will become Volkswagen’s first self-driving model.
As reported this car will be produced at the Volkswagen plant in Hannover, Germany. Currently, Volkswagen has launched ID. 3, ID. 4 electric cars, and other models like the ID series coupe will also arrive later.
