China’s Geely plans to launch a new electric car brand ‘ZEEKR’

China Geely intends to release a new electric car brand ‘ZEEKR’. According to the Enterprise Check App, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. has applied for a number of ‘ZEEKR’ related trademarks.

The application date is March 2021, the international classification involves scientific instruments, financial property management, communication services, etc. The current status of the trademark is ‘application for registration.

The ZEEKR trademark not only contains text, but its trademark image has also been submitted for application. In addition, Geely has also applied for the ‘ZEEKR AUTONOMOUS DRIVING’ trademark, indicating that this series of cars will support autonomous driving in the future.

Geely had previously acquired Volvo Cars and held approximately 9.7% of Daimler’s equity. In 2020, Volvo also launched its first pure electric SUV XC40 RECHARGE.

According to sources, the Zeekr brand will be owned by Geely’s upcoming electric vehicle company Lingling Technologies. The new car will be based on Geely’s previously launched ‘SEA vast intelligent evolution experience architecture’ to release new models.
