Tesla will launch a completely automated driving subscription service within 4 months

Elon Musk stated that Tesla will release a subscription service for its completely automated driving (FSD) software package in the next 3-4 months.

However, the monthly cost of this service will be relatively high. Last year, there were reports that Tesla was developing a subscription version of FSD software for car owners to use on-demand.

Tesla intends to launch this subscription service around the end of 2020. In the following months, Tesla did indeed carry out related development work, but soon after, Musk postponed the release date of this service to early 2021.

Now, 2021 has ushered in the third month, and the company has not yet released a subscription version of FSD. The company will definitely launch this feature in the second quarter of 2021that means that Tesla owners will welcome this service from April to June this year.

The CEO stated that a one-time buyout of this feature would be a more worthwhile transaction than subscription usage. The one-time purchase fee for FSD is about $10,000. In the past few years, Musk has been expressing this view.

The following are some of the main functions of FSD: Autopilot navigation, automatic lane change, automatic parking, call function, FSD computer, signal light and stop sign control.  Tesla also plans to finally achieve fully autonomous driving with its FSD program.

But the company has skipped tickets many times in terms of completely automated driving, and even if the company implements this function, the specific release and deployment still need to wait for supervision. Department’s approval.

Musk earlier said that as Tesla gets closer and closer to achieving completely automated driving, the price of its FSD will continue to rise. It is supposed that the monthly service fee of the subscription version of FSD may exceed $100, and it may continue to rise.

Musk has always emphasized that as its vehicles start to have autonomous driving capabilities, the value of Tesla cars will become higher and higher, and future owners’ Tesla cars can join the autopilot planned to be released later this year. Driving the taxi-hailing network, thereby creating additional income for car owners.
