China’s first AG600 aircraft has completed several flight tests

China’s self-developed large-scale amphibious aircraft AG600 made its first flight successfully in 2017 and successfully made its first flight at sea in 2020. The new AG600 testing device is under intense production and testing during the Spring Festival.

AG600 is currently the largest amphibious aircraft under research in the world. Currently, the first AG600 has completed several flight tests, and there are also several test aircraft that are under intense development and production throughout the country.

According to the digital frame unit of Aviation Industry Xifei Frame Fixture Factory, Shitian, the team carried out the installation and commissioning of 127 pieces of digital chemical equipment during the Spring Festival of 2021 to ensure the smooth delivery of the component after the Spring Festival.

During the Spring Festival, the personnel responsible for AG600 avionics, control system debugging, aircraft key parts production, and large part assembly development were carried out simultaneously in Shanghai, Xi’an, Shijiazhuang, Hanzhong, and other places.

At the Chengdu R&D Center, the R&D workload of the new AG600 nose components is 10% more than the first one. Wang Bin, deputy general manager of Aviation Industry South China Aircraft Industry Co., Ltd., said that the AG600 aircraft has entered the stage of comprehensive trial production and comprehensive testing.

The goal in 2021 is to complete the experimental verification of the AG600’s water throwing function and the iron bird test bench. tune and 003 assembly devices.

The self-developed cockpit simulation testbed used in the development of AG600 can simulate real airplane driving. As can be seen in the figure, the AG600 aircraft avionics system is highly digitized, and multiple large screens are used to display information.

AG600, also known as ‘Kunlong-600’, is estimated to have a maximum flight speed of 555km/h. It is equipped with four WJ-6 turboprop engines. The aircraft is mainly responsible for large-scale fire fighting and water rescue missions.
