Recently, Huawei has delivered the latest security improvements for the Huawei Mate 30 smartphones which install December 2020 security patch for improved system security and device stability.
Other than the security improvements this update does not bring any new features to these devices. It is important to note that the update is currently rolling out in batches and it may take some time to reach your device and also its availability depends on regions.
Aside from this, Huawei Mate 30 smartphones were recruited for HarmonyOS developer’s beta program. Recently, the company has kicked off the HarmonyOS 2.0 version 2.0.0.33 but this update doesn’t have a changelog and only has a one-line greeting.

How to update:
Download via Settings:
- Open Settings
- Click on the System & updates
- Open Software update
- Tap on Check for updates option
- If an update is available, click on Download and install
Download via Support app:
- Open the Support app on your device
- Go to the Service tab
- Click on the update button
- Tap on Check for update option
- If an update is available, click on Download and install
- After installation Reboot the device
