Redmi 7 began collecting January 2021 security update in China

Currently, Xiaomi is sending a new software update for Redmi 7 in China. The update brings the latest January 2021 Android security patch to the device. As always, this security patch improves system security to enhance the user experience. This update leads to the Android 10 based MIUI 12 version.

As per the official changelog, the update adds a new function in the Control center – Swipe down from the upper left corner to open the Notification shade and from the upper right corner to open the Control center.

It further fixes the bug that the Notification shade wasn’t displayed correctly in Dark Mode, and the Control center wasn’t always displayed correctly in landscape mode. Adding to this, it also optimizes system animations, control center, and dark mode.
