Apple Fitness+ Feature ‘Time to Walk’ is coming soon, with special guest audio stories

According to the news, Apple pushed the preview version of watchOS 7.3 Release Candidate, which is usually the final beta version of the software update.

The update release notes listed a new feature ‘Time to Walk’ for Apple Fitness + users, which is described as ‘an audio experience in the Workout app, and guests will share inspirational inspirations as you walk. s story’.

Apple Fitness + users will be able to open the ‘Workout’ app on Apple Watch, select ‘Time to Walk’, and select one of the audio stories to listen to while walking. This feature may be extended to wheelchair users.

According to a screenshot of a deleted Apple Fitness + promotional video shared by Twitter user Othmane, ‘Time to Walk’ will add the 30-minute story of singer Shawn Mendes when it is released. Othmane said that the video also shows the stories of singer Dolly Parton, NBA star Draymond Green, and actress Uzo Aduba.

Uzo Aduba is famous for playing Suzanne Warren in the Netflix original series “Orange Is the New Black.”

The ‘Time to Walk’settings started to appear in the early beta versions of watchOS 7.3 and iOS 14.4 a few weeks ago, these stories are not yet accessible. This feature should be launched when the software update is publicly released.

A new setting on the Apple Watch can be toggled to ensure that the new ‘Time to Walk’ content is added to the Workout app when it is available. When the Apple Watch is connected to a power source and close to the paired iPhone, these contents will be downloaded and automatically deleted after the exercise is completed.

Apple Fitness+ was launched in December last year, providing users with a fitness video library covering strength, yoga, dancing, running, walking, cycling, boating, etc. Every week, new content will be delivered from the coaching team hired by Apple.  Fitness + integrates personal indicators such as the Apple Watch’s heart rate to motivate users and will display animations on the screen at key moments of exercise.

Given that these exercises can be done outdoors without watching the screen, ‘Time to Walk’ will be unique. Apple Fitness + is currently available in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

Apple provides a one-month free trial to all Apple Watch users, and an extended three-month trial to customers who buy Apple Watch Series 3 or later after September 15, 2020. After the trial period ends, the service will be priced at $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year in the United States.
