Apple releases beta version candidate for macOS Big Sur 11.2

Apple pushed the release candidate (RC) update of macOS Big Sur 11.2 to developers. The macOS Big Sur 11.2 RC version has deleted a feature that Apple’s official apps can no longer bypass third-party firewalls and security tools.

In the current version 11, a ContentFilterExclusionList list is added, which permits Apple’s official apps (such as App Store, Maps, iCloud, etc.) to bypass the traffic screening of third-party firewalls and security tools. This list is removed in the 11.2 RC version Up.

The 11.2 RC version update also improves the reliability of Bluetooth and fixes the following issues:

  • When connecting to a Mac mini (M1, 2020) using an HDMI to DVI converter, the external monitor may display a black screen.
  • Editing of Apple ProRAW photos in the photo application may not be saved.
  • After disabling the ‘Desktop and Document Folder’ option of iCloud Drive, iCloud Drive may be closed.
  • When entering the administrator password, the system preferences may not be unlocked.
  • Pressing the Globe key may not display the ‘Emotions and Symbols’ window.
