Microsoft fixed unusable Windows 10 ‘reset this computer’ bugs

In order to avoid the trouble of reinstalling the system, many users will choose the ‘reset this computer’ function of Win10. But in many cases, this function is often unavailable.

According to news, the cumulative system update KB4598479 launched by Microsoft this week fixes this fault.

This bug shows that when the user tries to reset the computer, restarting again will enter the recovery mode interface, prompting “I have encountered a problem resetting this computer’.

The bug affects a wide range, from Windows 10 1607 to Windows 10 1909. Additionally, Windows Server 2016 version to v1909 version is also included. Microsoft introduced this bug in the 2020 KB4524244 system update and then had to withdraw this update.

Microsoft has said that the KB4524244 security update has been deleted and will not be provided through Win10 system updates and Windows Server system updates. This will not affect the latest other security updates and cumulative updates. The latest Windows 10 20H2 version is not affected by this bug.
