Qualcomm will release a ‘Snapdragon 870’ flagship chip this year

According to the news, Qualcomm will release a ‘Snapdragon 870’ flagship chip this year. Its positioning is slightly inferior to that of Snapdragon 888, but it has a stronger performance than Snapdragon 865.

A well-known whistleblower leaked the score information of the Xiaolong 870. From the running score data, it can be seen that the Geekbench score of the Snapdragon 870 is 1034 in single-core and 3513 in multi-core, which is much higher than that of the Snapdragon 865, even close to the contemporary flagship Snapdragon 888.

According to reports, this year there will be many mobile phones furnished with this chip, including Lenovo, OPPO, Vivo, OnePlus, and many other producers.

It is worth noting that the Snapdragon 870 chip will be launched by Motorola edge s. Earlier, Chen Jin, general manager of Lenovo’s mobile phone business department in China, announced: ‘Motorola’s new flagship furnished with Snapdragon 8XX will be unveiled soon.’

Chen Jin also revealed: Although this Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chip is not Snapdragon 888, its performance is still strong. It can run more than 650,000 points, unlike the conditions where friends’ labs increase the GPU clock speed.

The edge series used to be Motorola’s high-end products in overseas markets, and the introduction of edge s this time can be regarded as starting to fill the vacancy of Motorola’s product line in the domestic market.

This Motorola edge s may continue the previous overseas version of the edge+ design plan, but the core is upgraded to the Snapdragon 870, equipped with LPDDR5+UFS 3.0 storage specifications.

Additionally, the previous edge+ was also equipped with a 6.7-inch HDR10+ high-swipe screen with a resolution of 2340×1080 and supports fingerprint recognition under the screen. The edge s launched for the Chinese market this time is also expected to inherit this high-specification display.
