After the CES 2021 special launch ended early this morning, AMD CEO Dr. Su Zifeng communicated with friends from the global media through a connection.
Among them, a reporter asked about how AMD views Apple’s first PC processor M1, and how Apple’s future expansion in the graphics field will affect AMD.
Dr. Su expressed affirmation of the M1 processor. She believes that this is a manifestation of the innovative spirit of the PC, that is, in addition to the instruction set, the dual mining of software and hardware brings synergies.
After that, she changed the conversation and said that this proved that there are still many innovation opportunities in the PC industry. AMD will also provide more specialized solutions in the next few years to create differentiation and diversity.
As for the graphics field, Dr. Su emphasized that AMD and Apple are still graphics card partners, and both parties are still working together.
It is reported that in addition to kicking out Intel from the Mac product line in the next two years, Apple even plans to do it on its own with a GPU/graphics card instead of relying on AMD Radeon.
