A few days ago, we learned on Tesla’s US official website that the Model Y standard battery life model has also been released. The new car is priced at US$41,990 (approximately RMB 271,900).
The Tesla Model Y standard endurance version EPA operating range has a range of 244 miles (about 393 kilometers), and an acceleration time of 0-96km/h in 5.3s. Additionally, users can also choose to install a seven-seater model by paying US$3,000 (approximately RMB 19,428).
This also means that the seven-seater version of Tesla Model Y has officially started for selection. The price is close to the previous media estimate, at about 20,000 yuan. In other words, one more seat is more than 10,000 yuan ($1,546.36 US).
At the same time, with the arrival of standard endurance models, the model matrix of Model Y has been basically completed. Driven by the standard endurance, long-endurance, and high-performance models, Model Y’s overall market competitiveness has also improved a lot.
At present, Tesla Model Y has been on sale in China, which are dual-motor all-wheel-drive long-life version and Performance high-performance version. The Chinese price is 33.99 and 369,900 yuan ($57,186.58 US).
The Chinese Model Y long-endurance version has an NEDC cruising range of 594 kilometers, a top speed of 217km/h, a front and rear dual-motor system power of 317kW (431Ps), peak torque of 545N·m, and an acceleration from 100 kilometers in 5.1 seconds.
The Model Y high-performance version has a WLTP cruising range of 480 kilometers, a top speed of 241km/h, and the maximum power of the front and rear motors are 211kW and 147kW respectively, and it only takes 3.7 seconds to accelerate from 100 kilometers.
It is worth noting that the US price of the Model Y standard battery life version is only 271,900 yuan, which is 68,000 yuan cheaper than the price of the Chinese Model Y long battery life version.
In the later stage, if Tesla makes the Chinese produced Model Y standard battery life version, the entry price of Model Y will be further dropped, and Model Y will also impact the larger traditional fuel car market.
