Acer launches Chromebook Spin 514 notebook: Equipped with AMD Ryzen 3000C series mobile processors

During the 2021 CES show, Acer released a number of new products in one go. Acer today released the new Chromebook Spin 514, which is Acer’s first laptop furnished with AMD Ryzen 3000C series mobile processors.

This computer has a thin and light design with an aluminum alloy body and the screen can be turned 360-degree. The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 is equipped with a CPU specially designed for Chromebooks by AMD.

It is available with Ryzen 7 3700C or Ryzen 5 3500C processors. Both are designed with 4 cores and 8 threads. 3700C has a main frequency of 2.3GHz, an acceleration frequency of 4.0GHz, a 4MB L3 cache, and is produced using a 12nm process, with a TDP maximum of 25W.

The processor is equipped with 10 GPU cores with a frequency of 1400MHz. The Ryzen 5 3500C processor has a main frequency of 2.1GHz and an acceleration frequency of 3.7GHz. The number of GPU cores is reduced to 8, and the frequency is also reduced to 1200MHz.

The product weight is 1.55kg, the thickness is 17.35mm, and the battery life is up to ten hours. Up to 16GB RAM and 256GB NVMe SSD are optional. This computer has passed the US MIL-STD 810H military certification.

The display is furnished with a 14-inch 1080P IPS touch screen, covered with Corning Gorilla Glass, and a 6.1mm narrow bezel design. The screen can be flipped 360° for demonstration purposes. In addition, the body color is available in sterling silver, iron-gray, and mist green.

This computer has two Type-C ports, supports USB 3.2 Gen1, video output, and PD charging. It also has an HDMI interface and a MicroSD card reader.

This computer also has the Chromebook Enterprise Spin 514 business version, which is specifically for corporate customers and supports unified system management.
