Intel 11th gen Core i7-11700K Geekbench benchmark score leaked, with Octa-core 5GHz

The Geekbench benchmark database once again exposed the Core i7-11700K Rocket Lake desktop processor’s running score. This test is based on the Z490 platform. It can be seen that Rocket Lake has double-digit growth compared to Comet Lake in single-core/multi-core scores.

In addition, the 11th-generation Core i7 and AMD Ryzen R7 product line are tit-for-tat, but the 11th-generation Core i9 has also shrunk to 8 cores / 16 threads.

It is said that Intel strives to compete with AMD Ryzen R9-5900X/R7-5800X in terms of specifications and pricing of the 11th generation Core i9-11900K / i7-11700K.

However, while the i9-11900K has shrunk to 8 cores / 16 threads, AMD’s R9-5950X still has a single-threaded / multi-threaded performance experience with the support of the Zen 3 architecture.

The 11th generation Core i7-11700K and i9-11900K are both 8-core/16-thread configurations (the same is the cache), but the frequency and power consumption strategies are different.

Base frequency 3.6GHz/Turbo frequency up to 5.0GHz (full core 4.6GHz). The power consumption threshold of PL1 is 125W, and the power consumption threshold of PL2 is 225~250W. But if the 11th generation Core i7 still has good overclocking potential, the existence of this generation i9 will be particularly embarrassing.

Earlier, the running score of the 11th generation Core i7-11700K has been exposed by the Geekbench 4 benchmark database. It now appears that it is slightly different from the results of Geekbench 5 (single-core 7857 / multi-threaded 42011).

As a comparison, the benchmark test score of the previous generation i7-10700K is 6200 single-core / 35000 multi-threaded, which means that Rocket Lake has a 25% / 20% lead.

As for the fierce market competition between the new 11th generation Core products and AMD Ryzen 3000/5000 series processors, please be patient and wait for the official announcement in a few weeks.
