AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card is extremely overclocked to 3 GHz

According to the source, on the last day of the past 2020, the overclocker under the nickname OGS extremely overclocked the top-end AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT video card, setting another record in the 3DMark FireStrike Extreme test and hitting the ceiling of the overclocking potential of the video card.

The base frequency of the model was raised to 2950 MHz, and the frequency in Boost mode – up to 3000 MHz. Along the way, we managed to overclock the memory – from 2000 to 2150 MHz (up to an effective frequency of 17.2 GHz). The system also used a Ryzen 9 5950X processor overclocked to 5.4 GHz. As for the 3DMark record, the FireStrike Extreme test ended with a score of 33,645 points.

According to the source, OGS managed to overclock the Radeon RX 6900 XT as much as possible in terms of GPU frequency and memory frequency. The above will no longer work because of the hardware and not the software limit set by AMD itself.

Since this limitation is a hardware lock, it is estimated to be difficult to breakthrough, but there will always be players to try it, and maybe someone will realize it in 2021.
