The native version of Zoom adapted to M1 Mac will be launched during the holidays. Previously, Zoom was available on M1 Mac and MacBooks, but it could only be used indirectly. The macOS application is of course developed for Intel-based Macs, but can later be converted to run on Apple Silicon M1 via Rosetta.
Although originally designed for large-scale meetings, no matter what the purpose, Zoom has quickly become synonymous with video conferencing. Zoom abandoned the 40-minute free account limit during the holidays and hoped that its service will be used for virtual family and friends gatherings.
Another step the company took was to launch a native version of its application for Apple’s new M1 Mac, thereby extending users’ chat time by a few more hours.
The new native version of Zoom will be used in this new generation of Mac, and it may run faster. In fact, the performance of the application itself is very good, it consumes only a small part of the battery per hour, the original M1 version in theory will further reduce its power consumption.
