China Unicom launches normalized testing of stock optical cable project

According to official news from China Unicom, China Unicom has officially started the normalized (perennial) test for trunk optical cable projects. This test is a qualified product test. Suppliers who meet the following requirements can voluntarily sign up for the test.

Participating suppliers need to provide trunk optical cable samples to participate in the test. The sample requirements are 192 core GYTA optical cable (48B1.2+144B1.3), the entire reel, and the length of a single reel is >2km. The test sample needs to have a red outer sheath ribbon.

For the loose tube of G.654.E optical fiber, an orange color bar is required for identification, and the orange tube plus a black color bar is identified. The width of the color bar is 1 to 3 mm. G.654.E fiber and G.652D fiber are not allowed to be mixed in the same loose tube.

The samples sent by the supplier pass all the test items and are judged to pass the test. One item that does not meet the index requirements is judged as unqualified.

All related costs and expenses incurred in the test are borne by the participating manufacturers and paid to the testing unit uniformly. The total test cost includes test fees and technical support management fees. No matter whether the test result meets the requirements of China Unicom, the test fee will not be refunded.
