AMD stated that Zen4 5nm architecture will be available before Q2 2022

AMD officially launched the Ryzen 5000 series processors, based on the Zen3 architecture and 7nm process design. The Zen3 architecture is currently complementing the product line, but AMD has stated that the Zen4 architecture will be available before 2022.

According to the original official plan, the Zen4 architecture processor will be upgraded to the 5nm process, which can increase the transistor density by 80%, 15% of the performance, and reduce the power consumption by 30% compared to the 7nm process.

The Zen3 architecture processor achieves a 19% IPC performance improvement based on the latter, so the performance improvement of the Zen4 architecture processor is expected to be considerable.

AMD executive vice president Rick Bergman said in an interview with the media in November this year that Zen4 will squeeze out more performance, give full play to the advantages of the 5nm process in power consumption and transistor density, and ensure more computing performance per watt. At the same time, he also hinted that the number of cores will be further increased.
