Intel announced Intel SSD D7-P5510, the world’s first 144-layer TLC NAND SSD, and Intel SSD D5-P5316 is the first in the industry to use 144 Layer QLC NAND data center-level solid-state disk.
the TLC-based P5510 and QLC-based P5316 both use the same master control as Intel’s P5000 series of SSDs released earlier this year and support PCIe 4.0. The performance of the new 144-layer SSD is not much improved and should be cheaper than the 96-layer version.
The P5510 will be delivered and sold by the end of this year, and the P5316 is undergoing sampling tests and will be available in the first half of 2021.
Intel said that the three new NAND SSDs released today represent a new era of TLC and QLC is the mainstream technology of large-capacity SSDs. Among them, Intel 3D NAND SSD 670p is Intel’s next-generation 144-layer (QLC) 3D NAND SSD for mainstream computing.
